By default, merging happens entirely in your browser and files are not uploaded.
If this is ticked, your PDFs are sent to this site over the current connection
(HTTPS when the page is loaded using HTTPS), processed in a temporary server
folder, and deleted immediately after processing finishes or fails. No permanent
copies are intentionally kept.
